Q:  The company I work for has an event planned and is looking for an inspirational/motivational speaker to give a presentation on Leadership to our employees, but we have a Toastmasters club that meets within this company.  It is OK for us to request a Queen City Toastmasters Bureau Speaker for Organizations volunteer speaker?
A:  Absolutely!  Your organization is not disqualified because you have a Toastmasters club operating at the same location.  Please contact the Speakers Bureau Coordinator to discuss your special situation.

Q:  Are there any fees or costs required for this service?
A:  Our volunteer speakers do not get paid, but should not incur any costs as part of providing this complimentary service.  If the presentation needs handouts, the speaker may request that you print and supply them.

A:  The simplest way is to fill out the Speaker Request Form.

Q:  Are there any written agreements that must be signed?

A:  A small percentage are paid professional speakers, but most are not.  Presentation skills and experience levels do vary.  If you need a more experienced speaker, be sure to include that in the on-line Speaker Request Form.

Q:  Can you give me some ideas of speech topics or themes that would align well with Queen City Toastmasters Speakers Bureau speakers?

Q:  How far in advance of my event or meeting should I request a Queen City Toastmasters Speakers Bureau speaker?
A:  The preference is at least two weeks in advance and hopefully more (up to 6 months).  The farther in advance the greater the opportunity to identify the right speaker that is available (on your date/time).   If your meeting or event is within the next several days, go ahead and submit your request.  There is always a chance.

Q:  How does the process work?
A:  The requesting organization submits an online speaker request form; a notification of speaking opportunity email is sent out to a set of Queen City Toastmasters Speakers Bureau speakers; available speakers will reply to the notification; and the Queen City Toastmasters Speakers Bureau coordinator selects the best fit and notifies the requester (and the selected speaker).  It can take 1 – 7 days to identify a speaker. You may also request a speaker based on their bio.

Q:  What happens if our event or meeting gets cancelled?
A:  Simply notify the speaker and the Speakers Bureau Coordinator as soon as you can.

Q:  What happens if the speaker is late or doesn’t make it to the meeting or event?
A:  Even though there are no guarantees in this program, the Queen City Toastmasters Speakers Bureau speakers are highly respected and responsible members of our district and should not be late or not show up.

Q:  How do I provide feedback about the speaker’s performance and content quality after the event is over?
A:  The Queen City Toastmasters Speakers Bureau coordinator will email you a link for a short on-line survey within 24 hours (after your event) where you have the ability to provide your feedback.
